Artemis Tank Mk II

"Some claim the Artemis is a dated, over-complicated design incapable of upgrading. It seems these critics are incorrect."
-Strategos Andrew

The Artemis Mk II is an upgrade to the existing Artemis Tank. Its primary difference between the original vehicles was the addition of a Model 11 105mm 12-stage coilgun, capable of launching a 35-pound sabot projectile capable of flying at Mach 8, giving it significantly greater penetrating power than the Victoria MBT. It also received a pair of 50hp turbines to power the coilgun capacitors.

The far more powerful gun allowed the vehicle to fulfill its new role as tank destroyer, allowing it to engage Victoria MBTs at distances up to 10,000 yards. However, the Victoria was a much cheaper machine, approximately half its cost, and had comparable frontal armor and firepower. However, it had a much higher rate of fire; where the 90mm Mark 8 Electromagnetic Gun required a capacitor which must be loaded with the gun, the Model 11 105mm Coilgun had its capacitors built in the breech, meaning that the loader only had to load the much lighter projectile. This came at the price at fuel consumption and complexity; these capacitors had to be charged before firing and thus needed to be constantly charged. Loss of power would disable the gun. In contrast, the Victoria's 90mm gun does not require any power from the tank to operate, since all the power to operate the railgun is derived from the included capacitor. 321 Artemis Tanks were converted to the Mk II standard.

Turret controls are activated with (1). Elevation is done through pitch, and turret traverse is done through roll. Forward VTOL makes it go forward. Yaw controls steering.

@hadesrocksz We should have the ability for ground vehicles to challenge each other. A feature I anticipate seeing, given just how far SimplePlanes has gone. The developers won't overlook that.

@hadesrocksz I see. These improvements will come in the Mark III.

Because the Olympian Army needs more.

Ah ok, but they still can lock on, just set the missile ag to group to everything, and the detach group to whatever, and the missiles will be able to lock, and also be independantly fired @Pilotmario

@hadesrocksz I know that. However, if they ever do allow ground units, I want them to be able to lock onto and guide a munition. That is why the cockpit is placed on the barrel so as to facilitate that. But you could set them to fire if you wish.

Also, settting the detachers to detach means that the missiles fire
