The XFA-3

The XFA-3 is heavily inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II and like the original it features short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) capabilities. This is enabled through the tilting nozzle of the main engine and a lift fan in the front.
This is accomplished without the use of a gyro and just uses funky trees to keep the plane stable during hover.

Operation

Vertical Takeoff

  1. Activate group 1 to bring the airplane into VTOL Mode
  2. Move up the TRIM to make the aircraft climb
  3. Move VTOL to 3/4 down and rudder full right to increase forward speed
  4. At about 300 - 400 kph deactivate group 1 throttle up and bring trim to neutral

Vertical Landing

  1. Activate group 1 and make sure that VTOL is neutral
  2. Wait for the aircraft to slow down to below 300 kph
  3. Pitch fully up
  4. Wait for your forward speed to get to almost 0 and manage your decent with TRIM
