ARV-22-A1 Grenadier I [MDA]
BEHOLD
An ARV-22-A1 Grenadier I.
Yes, this much firepower and it's just variant 1.0.
The MDA's all-purpose off-road armored reconnaissance combat car. Isn't he lovely?
So, what does ARV-22-A1 here actually do? A lot of stuff. I should lecture you, but I'd rather make a list, so here you go.
Controls:
-Pitch to drive
-Roll to turn
-Yaw to traverse the turret
-VTOL to elevate/depress the main cannon
-Trim to elevate/depress the rocket launchers
-Brakes to brake, activates brake lights too
Activation Group 1:
Activates the gyroscope. Useful for self-righting and traversing bodies of water, but it's unadvised to use it whilst off-roading unless the vehicle is stuck on its side or top.
Activation Group 2:
Toggles rear wheels. This car is a 4x4 drive, so all wheels are always spinning (provided that it's not damaged), but AG2 allows you to activate rear wheel steering, increasing the vehicle's agility, albeit possibly sacrificing some control.
Activation Group 3:
Turns the machine guns on/off. The ARV-22-A1 features a 20mm autocannon mounted in the manlet as well as a 50 caliber machine gun mounted above.
Activation Group 4:
Deploy missiles. Rarely will you need this, considering how useful the missiles are against targets, but it's recommended to do this while off-roading to avoid the possibility of exploding should you flip over.
Activation Group 5:
Nothing
Activation Group 6:
Nothing
Activation Group 7:
Nothing
Activation Group 8:
Toggle lights. Only affects the headlights, since the rear lights are all brake lights.; the A1 variant of the ARV-22 lacks tail-lights.
Armaments:
The ARV-22-A1 may be a reconnaissance vehicle, but it's HEAVILY armed. Sporting a cannon consisting of both HE and AP rounds, two machine guns, 18 Basher rockets, 5 Calliope Sherman missiles, and water propellant, this vehicle is suit for any environment.
Why so much? Why ARV?
The ARV-22-A1 was built to fight a battle in any environment. With the threat of both flooding and sudden un-flooding as well as no knowledge of exactly where the conflict would take place made it imperative for any vehicles to be able to travel anywhere. The ARV is no exception, being able to tackle any landform while still being mobile in the water.
Extras
Snowstone
Snow camo! Above; the ARV-22-A1 tests its climbing abilities after emerging from a Snowstone river. Below; countermeasures testing to prove the Grenadier can avoid missile-based attacks.
Yeager
Firing the rockets.
Basically the first picture of the Snowstone collection, but on Yeager.
Wright
An Enargite VII looks at an idling ARV-22-A1, almost as if they're both silently questioning the other's presence...
A Grenadier tanks an unplanned attack from the Supermarine Attacker. Almost unsurprisingly, the ARV shrugged it off.
