With a top speed just around 2,000 mph, simple logistics, and manufacturing. This is a very simple intercepter. No, it cannot win any STOL or maneuverability awards....let alone speed. Despite being very fast. However, it can go from a standstill, to its top low-altitude speed in however many meters long Bandit Airfield is.

I suppose. But the stealth capability allowed the PAF Renegade II to have some say on when to engage, given its slower top speed. Post-battle analysis of Teuton radio chatter confirmed the stealthy nature of the Renegade II allowed them to ambush the Silbervogel. They only realized they were there when they attacked, which is when a Renegade II is most visible. @PINK
It was made to be chucked around and easy on logistics. A large twin engine plane is planed, with more advanced capabilities. Stealth is considered unessicary. @Pilotmario
