FE-222 light fighter-bomber
In the absence of the expensive FE-88, the FE-222 filled the role for a light bomber, and capable fighter. The plane was made to carry 4 bombs, but pilots found more could be put on the wings. The plane became a capable long range fighter, and almost phased out the FE-88 altogether. Crashed and flawed FE-222s were often used in the "People's Jet" programme. One complaint about the plane was the low caliber guns, which had problems damaging other planes.
