Background

The Karl-Gerät was a siege mortar developed by the People's Army of Neorasia in 2028. It was the first unit of its Class, with a total of 7 units produced during the Civil War. These units were named Karl-Gerät, Eve, Thor, Loki, Ziu, Baldur, and Wotan. Among these, 3 units were modified with a 540mm mortar during the later stages of the Civil War.

The Karl-Gerät was first deployed during the Siege of Hanako City, specifically in the outskirts of Sector B. At that time, the Neorasia forces were unable to penetrate the city due to the fortified defenses of the city’s garrison. The Karl-Gerät was used to bombard the Mizuhara forces defending the fortifications. Neorasia's troops managed to breach the defenses in early April but were forced to retreat by mid-March 2029.

The Karl-Gerät saw action again during the Battle of Fuzhou City, where it bombarded the railway station occupied by Mizuhara forces. However, on January 27, the position where the Karl-Gerät was stationed was attacked by Mizuhara's 1st Cavalry Division, which subsequently captured the Karl-Gerät. The 1st Cavalry Division utilized the Karl-Gerät for the remainder of the Civil War.
