Made to fend of Vouran ships at the time, the Mercury Class was the biggest starship in the Milky Way when introduced. Armed with a battalion of turbolasers and proton torpedoes, and a ship destroying Ion cannon, this ship had heavy offense. The ship was powered by 4X plasma drives, and 1X warp drive. The ship was so heavy and huge that the plasma drives had to be incredibly powerful. If a Vouran ship saw one of these coming their way, it would escape. It had two large hangars that held 600 RD-15 Vegas. The ship was phased out when the Vourans launched the superior Colosseum Class Battleship. The replacement was the smaller but heavier armored Cluster Class Frigate.
