1960's experimental VTOL aircraft

-tested on low physics-

This build has a generator for extra power and fuel. This build took me forever to get right. I took it apart many times and rebuilt the inside to get her balanced. If you don't like the generator glitch feel free to remove, she will still fly.

**** OPERATION ****

• Activate 1

• Slide VTOL slider forward just a tiny bit above neutral
---> then deactivate 1 ( this locks nozzles in place )

• Return VTOL slider to neutral and take off like normal VTOL
---> ease into throttle at first for take off ( 50% - 70% ) and slowly slide VTOL slider all the way forward. Once airborne full throttle and enjoy

Very cool designs! You really gotta start building again. There are a lot of new parts now to use. :D

@Wakescar @Dethfromabove I dunno... what should we build? You guys use Google hangouts at all? That would be a more effective way to communicate.

@DethFromAbove Sorry for the delay, I never saw the notification come through that you had replied. I'd be interested to see what you do for the star wars challenge. You want me to build with Wakescar and yourself? Totally cool man, I'd be interested. I'll brainstorm today and see if I can come up with a theme of some sort.

@TheLantentImage have a few thinks in the works but haven't been satisfied with them :| gonna start a new project tonight. Hopefully something for the Star Wars Challenge. I have also been trying to think of a good team build that you, myself and Wakescar could collaborate on. If you can think of a sweet movie or franchise with three vehicles we could build shout at me.

@DethFromAbove I always learn something new if I'm talking about something I already know a little about with someone. No need to apologize. Do you use hangouts? Perhaps we could continue the conversation there to avoid spamming your comments section As we are... lol.

@TheLatentImage the narcosis comes from the nitrogen I'm loading my body with at pressure. That's why they tend to use mixed gases at greater depths, like the helium you mentioned. When you start getting too much nitrogen in your system you begin to feel a little "loopy". It gets harder to focus and you feel impaired. I'm not so sure about oxygen deprived environments. I know that breathing pure O2 can make you feel good, hence oxygen bars. But pure oxygen at pressure can be toxic of you breath to much of it. When you breath Heliox (helium and oxygen) they take the nitrogen out of the air and replace with helium so you don't get nitrogen narcosis and your body can shed the helium from your bloodstream quicker because it's a lighter gas then nitrogen. Sorry if I'm rambling about things you already understand :P

@DethFromAbove So, being in the hyperbaric chamber had effects on your body similar to that of narcotics? That's interesting, would it be similar to how people react when they are in an oxygen poor environment, similar to high altitudes? Or is that kind of different all together?

@TheLatentImage sorry friend :P not tryin to sound like a "know it all" lol. I actually hate talking about being a diver most of the time haha. Most divers I've met like to talk about themselves, A LOT. Lol but I guess you have that everywhere you go these days with all kinds of things. I haven't done to many mixed gas dives, not usually going that deep. Offshore they tend to use mixed gas a lot and it can be QUITE funny lol. "Topside I have reached the bottom" in a hilarious chipmunk voice Hahaha!! The only time I have ever experienced something like that was in a hyperbaric chamber. I was pressurized to about 250 feet for a nitrogen narcosis test. My vocal chords were compressed and I sounded like I was breathing helium lol. On top of that I was feeling a little "narced out" so it was very comical!

@DethFromAbove Yes, I'm aware of nitrogen build up and such. I suppose I was more metaphorically speaking of bolting to the surface. Nobody wants a case of the bends! I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me though, that was cool of you. Have you ever had a chance to use any of that cool helium equipment that I've seen divers in videos use? Seems like that would have the potential to be both dangerous and hilarious at the same time.

@TheLatentImage haha absolutely!! Unfortunatly if you're diving for an extended period of time at any real depth ( greater than 20-35' ) you can't bolt for the surface because of nitrogen that builds up in your system while breathing under pressure. So it's more of a "Oh man I just crapped my pants but I have to sit here and deal" lol. But we work a lot in shallow dark waters so I have definetly had to go to the surface before and regroup after run in with "something" in the dark lol.

@DethFromAbove Ah, will I kan reed gud... lol. I've never been diving before, that seems like it would be a pretty cool job. Have you ever been under there and had something "nope" you right back to the surface?

@TheLatentImage diver not driver :P I work underwater.. I do a lot of driving because I work all over New England but nothing quite as stressful as your time spent on the roads I'm sure! At most I have a 30 boat behind the truck which can be quite stressful at times. You're absolutely right though, seems anyone can get a license these days, the highways in this country are a dangerous place!

@DethFromAbove You drive for a living too? I'm a local driver for a wine distributor. The job is alright. I guess my biggest gripe would be all of the stupid situational awareness impaired drivers out there. What do you do, long haul no touch stuff?

@TheLatentImage doing pretty well brotha.. Been getting busy with work. I'm a commercial diver so with the nice weather comes my busy season. Hope to put a build out soon.. I'd like to make an original but seem to be lacking in creativity lately.. Perhaps I will consult the animal kingdom yet again ;)

@DethfromAbove Hey buddy, I had you in mind for one of my recent builds. Give it a test and let me know what you think. I think you're going to like it... though... I think we're going to need a bigger boat.

@DethFromAbove Lol, it looks like it. Your effort is apparent. I look forward to digging into your catalog of designs to see what other gems you have. Also, if you're into nature inspired designs you should check out the hawk designs I have. I think that you will enjoy those, they move and articulate nicely. Keep up the good work my friend.
