YF-36 Kingsnake
Advanced Multi-Role Fighter proposal intended to replace the USAF's aging F-16C/D fleet. A highly advanced "Generation 4.9" Platform largely derived from the F-16XL, which served as General Dynamic's offering to the DoD's ETF competition in the early '80s, ultimately losing out to the McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, however, as the Strike Eagle was considered to be a more survivable contested airspace penetrator, owing to its twin engines, as compared to the F-16XL's single afterburning powerplant. The term "Gen 4.9" stems from the fact that the aircraft will incorporate all Generation 5 systems except one; All-Around Low Observability (Stealth), as the YF-36's mission profile will not include hiding. Rather they will penetrate enemy airspace in force, and engage both air and ground targets at distances well beyond visual range, with next-gen hypersonic weapons, currently in development.
Tall props go to @thedragon381, who's F-16XL airframe was my starting point.
