Lockheed Vega 5B NR-7952
This is a replica of Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Vega 5B. Earhart was the first woman to cross the Atlantic solo by airplane, in 1932, before intercontinental flight was considered routine and safe. This legendary feat cemented her place among aviation's bravest pioneers. Vegas were used for racing and set several records, but were obsolete by WWII. (Source: www.airandspace.si.edu).
Controls:
VTOL adjusts flaps.
Tips: Takeoff with 50% flaps and full throttle. Land with full flaps and roughly 5% throttle. I think it stalls around 150kph and seems to land smoothest around 170kph.
Production Notes: I tried to balance the engine horsepower with the way SimplePlanes calculates drag and weight to get close to realistic performance. It's probably a little overpowered at 1000hp. This is about as much detail as I'd like to add to the paint job, although there are cool gold pinstripes on the real one... too many small pieces for now.
Have fun!
