Th D2B was imagined in 1974 as an attack aircraft based on the D2 Blazer. The only major changes were a slightly raised fuselage, added rocket pods under the wings, and conversion from a taildragger to a tricycle-geared aircraft. The basic arnament has remained unchanged. The long lifespan and ability to withstand battle damage means it will likely be in service far into the future.
