Being armed with photon-based weapons instead of lasers or plasma, it was clearly made for civilian use. It was extremely popular throughout the 2050s and beyond, its design always being updated to fit the current decade. As it got older and older, it became increasingly cheaper. By 2110, the average middle class family of four could afford it, with it's price being around $800,000 ($37,500 in today's money).
