The Boeing 757-200 is the main model of the Boeing 757 series, accounting for the majority of the produced Boeing 757. The Boeing 757-200 model left the factory on January 13, 1982, made its first flight on February 19 of the same year, and obtained the airworthiness certificate of the Federal Aviation Administration on December 21 of the same year. The initial installation was the Rolls Royce RB211 series engine, and on December 22, 1982, the first Boeing 757-200 was delivered to users. The Boeing 757-200, which uses the Pratt Whitney PW2000 series, made its maiden flight on March 14, 1984. In a typical mixed cabin layout, the Boeing 757-200 is designed to carry 178-239 passengers. The takeoff weight of the Boeing 757-200 starts at 220000 pounds (99800 kilograms), and the maximum takeoff weight can reach 255500 pounds (115900 kilograms) during heavy duty or long-distance flights.

In China southern airline

The Boeing 757-200 aircraft entered Xinjiang Airlines (predecessor of China Southern Airlines Xinjiang Branch) in 1996 to replace the retired Tu-154 aircraft. Due to its advanced design, high comfort, good economy, and strong flexibility, it is popular among travelers both inside and outside Xinjiang. Relying on the new transportation capacity, the company has formed a route network pattern of "east-west network and inland fan". Before this large-scale retirement, China Southern Airlines had a total of 13 757-200 aircraft, all operated by China Southern Airlines' Xinjiang branch, making it the largest 757-200 aircraft fleet in China.
