Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor II
This is a continuation of my first raptor. Now utilizing the most advanced pitching system I've used to date, it has both supermaneuverability and a more realistic appearance now. It is capable of making high G turns at low altitudes and pulling up from a 90 degree dive at appr. 1k ft. The turning capabilities can be further improved by the THRUST VECTORING, which is activated by ACTIVATION GROUP 1. Only real downside is a slight tilting to the left that the plane tends to do. I've done extensive research and I've discovered that the cause is mysteriously increased drag in the left engine...or is is decreased in the left? If you wanna add weapons, add weapons, but I I probably won't. Top speed is about 1090 mph. Don't forget to leave a rating or suggestion

375 CtCrusher@Allstarship I may be hanleing it wrong, but as far as I can tell it flips uncontrrollably imediately after take off.9.6 years ago

375 CtCrusherVery unstable and flips even on high settings. The stars I'm giving are for replica design.9.6 years ago

142 AstroMagician22Found out your problem! I know I'm not as expierienced as you in this but when I read all the comments I noticed you needed help finding out what made your plane turn to the left. So when I downloaded it I looked at the col/com/cot and realized that the center of lift (col) wasn't in the center of the plane. That appeared on mine anyway but may not show on yours.9.6 years ago

510 AzuruDude!! You have some awesome planes. I love the trim on this thing.9.7 years ago

15.9k AllstarWell thank you both. It seems that now I'm faced with the age old question. Flight performance vs physical appearance. Then again, to decrease flight performance would also decrease looks. Should I throw them both away for a minor flaw. Definitely not. But if I somehow sacrifice a little of both to solve the problem... @Scriefers @OminousGloom9.7 years ago

8,341 OminousGloom@Allstarship I've spent 2 hours now trying to figure this out. It has nothing to do with your device or the part clipping. Must be a bug, since I could not replicate the problem on a different aircraft. I'll keep searching for a solution.9.7 years ago

25.5k ScriefersI figured it out for ya, but I don't think you're gonna like the answer. The issue is not a drag difference between the two engines. They only look a different shade of pink in the drag map because of the lighting/shadow effects used in the 'hanger'. The jerkiness and steady lean to one side is a result of the wing pieces used on the bottom of the plane, and the leading edges of the main wings. If you remove the bottom wing pieces and the light gray leading-edge pieces, the plane flies evenly (although nose tippy). It sucks because these pieces really give it that F-22 look... Try playing around a bit more with them and maybe they'll decide to cooperate.9.7 years ago

7,262 Zing2000I managed to get it even, I just mirrored the side with more drag...9.7 years ago

15.9k AllstarIt would be pretty much perfect if it wasn't for one fatal flaw. I've studied it and realized that the drag on the engines are, for one reason or another, uneven. I've tried a whole lot of crap and I can't seem to get it fixed. Not sure if this is a problem with the game or my failure as a designer. Nevertheless, I would like a few people to help me try and fix it. This means a lot to me. @Zing2000 @Katrina @Scriefers @WeeBabySeamus @OminousGloom @ElijtheGeat @SkipperBing @Cjredwards @Authros @thomasjaf9.7 years ago

1,261 Ambarveisthe pitching system is called a stabillator if im not wrong, nearly all Mach 1+ aircrafts have stabilators (real life) it drastically improves pitching ability and reduces shockwave effect, normally the fulcrum is at the center of the CoL of the horizontal stab to prevent shifting of CoL and/or CoM9.7 years ago

15.9k AllstarI really don't know. I guess it's just a lot of practice. When you make plenty of fast fighter jets and you have to find ways to incorporate that 3rd VTOL engine, you eventually learn how to do so effectively. Actually, i was doing dishes and pondering how to create a strong, yet powerful pitching system. All of a sudden it just kinda came to me. @OminousGloom9.7 years ago

8,341 OminousGloomI just realized how you did the pitching. That's ingenious!!! Also, Ik you are on mobile, how are you so good at part clipping? Guides don't explain this.9.7 years ago
