DESCRIPTION

The CL-H MISAKA are a class of general purpose, anti surface cruisers developed in the middle to late 1970s as means to provide the navy with a large surface combatant warship and command post.

The MISAKA are designated as Cruiser Leaders (Helicopter), providing command and control for naval fleets while supporting amphibious land operations. It's stern features a long flight deck capable of landing 2 helicopters at once while it has hanger capacity for up to 4 Medium lift anti submarine helicopters.

Powered by 4 diesel/gas turbines running 2 shafts, it can reach a top speed of 30 kts in calm weathers.
On top of a large aviation facility, the MISAKA boast a well deck on the stern, capable of holding either 2 Landing crafts, 2 light zodiacs or a single smaller patrol boat. This allows the ship to support amphibious landings on hostile shores or provide anti piracy/ area patrol with it's smaller parasite crafts.

Its sensor suite are extensive with 2 air/Surface search radars and up to 3 fire control radars to provide accurate guidance for it's plethora of weapons systems.

The main weapon of the MISAKA are it's complement of Anti surface/Anti ship missiles.
It boast 2 Amoured box launchers each containing 4 long range heavy cruise missiles, 12 anti ship missiles in 6 racks on either side of the ship. Anti submarine capabilities comes in the form of 2 times ASROK rocket launchers with its main gun of 4 times 100mm cannons in twin mounts rounding off its offensive strike armament.
Defensive armaments are equally impressive with 2 Octuple mounts for 16 Sea sparrows capable of hitting out to 20km. 2 times DARDO 40mm twin barrel CIWS for anti aircraft and anti missile defence with 6 20mm oerlikon KAA point defence guns for small boat threats.
