This aircraft was going to be the successor to the Spitfire, it was actually entered into production and 17 were built but the order was cancelled because of the advent of the Jet era, though there was some skepticism about jet aircraft operating on aircraft carriers this was the Seafang, though due to the flight of the De Havilland Sea Venom the Seafang sort-of disappeared
