Dates 1916. A young, emergent company who had already trialed their ability with heavier than aircraft with the LXX Chainsmoker had entered a competition for a contract. This small company won out over bigger names of the times, which was a controversial decision, but an important one.
This small, immature consisting of seven designers, two janitors and an advertiser created one of the best aircraft of the first world war.
With a simple design, advanced engine and a fixed wing design, the craft was a valiant fighter, a symbol of hope and an icon of liberation. It became popular with ground forces after being able to successfully harass enemies.
Fly High, and Don’t Die.
