Dune Ornithoptor

703 L3thalPredator  3.1 years ago

This is a fictional ornithoptor from the new movie called Dune. This is not a 1:1 scale recreation, I just threw it togther from some photos online and from watching the movie(10/10 recomend watching) and yes it is a full functioning or ornithoptor, only relying on vtol engines to get off the ground, Things to look out for, its kinda hard to land, and loves to flatspin(just cut throttle and roll the same dirrection your spinning and should auto correct. Read craft Instructions for flight guide and controls

@laSoul well the wings provide lift for it, so using structure panels would make it so I would have to use engines for the whole flight, and that's not what I'm going for. Thanks for the suggestion though

I think the culprit for flat spinning might be in the wings! While the Funky on all the flapping wings is identical, the game might not run them so. I think structural panels might be the way to go.

Used them + putting Yaw power on the gyroscope and it flies quite nice!
