Description (based on the challenge)
While not designed for active combat, the DAC-E10 is an irreplaceable asset for those nations that chose to remain neutral. As anti-satellite strikes and jamming runs rampant, the usefulness of airborne surveillance radars has once again been heightened. Fleets of DAC-E10s can be deployed by a nation to protect its sovereignty and monitor any possible airspace incursions, for a fraction of the cost of a new satellite launch.
Besides the main surveillance radar, the DAC-E10 is also equipped with a pair of synthetic aperture side-looking millimeter-wave radars capable of all-weather land and airspace imaging in real time.
Advanced weather information gathered by the nose-mounted enhanced weather radar can be relayed directly to troops on the ground or planes in the air, which is especially useful during a satellite outage.
Built on the DAC-10-100 commercial airliner platform, the E10 variant has enough carrying capacity to also equip 14 air-to-air missiles that can be used for self-defense. The advanced radar systems of the aircraft allow the missiles to be launched regardless of the target's relative position, with the missile launcher capable of aiming behind the plane to deter attackers from pursuing it.
Besides from being equipped with standard VHF and satcom communications equipment, a longwave antenna can also be deployed, allowing the aircraft to communicate worldwide in case of a total collapse scenario.
Controls:
VTOL - Flaps
Trim - Trim
AG1 - reversers, default off
AG2 - reverse on brake, default off
AG3 - deploy/retract longwave antenna
AG4 - rotate AA missiles
AG8 - lights, default on
Reverse on brake:
If thrust reversers are deployed (AG1) and reverse on brake is enabled (AG2), reverse thrust will be set to max whenever brakes are applied regardless of the thrust setting. If reversers are deployed and reverse on brakes is disabled, reverse thrust is controlled by the normal thrust setting. You can enable reverse on brake if you are playing with a keyboard, which automatically sets thrust to 0 when brakes are applied.
After-mirror checklist:
- Wingtip nav light color
- Flaps on one side inverted
Besides that the aircraft should be mirror-friendly
