(Naval Target) Enemy Carrier

89.8k LunarEclipseSP  1.7 years ago

A static, stationary naval prop for target practice. Based on the Russian Navy Admiral Kuznetsov Class aircraft carrier (Alternatively can also be the Chinese Navy PLA Shandong aircraft carrier).

Highly recommended to spawn in the water.

Disclaimer: This ship was intended for shooting target. Do not land any kind of aircraft or helicopters above the landing pad because the ship is more lighter than the aircraft you fly.

Footnote:

  • This thing is massive. Once you want to save the ship or play it as player, it will freeze your game for a while. Took a half-a minute to load (about 38 seconds). Even though it has 0 drag points. Probably due to consisting of large sized fuselages.

  • Cannot make it any larger, even equaling the size of the USS Beast, it would freeze the game entirely and crashed the game.

  • This ship may be light, because if i increase the mass, the ship would lean to the side.

  • This ship is strong, so that standard missiles would not really effective. I would recommend you to make it as a bomb or torpedo target practice, because a high-explosive ordnance like bombs or torpedoes, is the most effective against this target ship.

Known issue:

  • Due to its enormous and massive scale, this build "may not" friendly for your device, despite having a small count of parts.

@Speedhunter i forgot about polygons but that's probably the reason why

@VeroViper, @Monarchii I think it's the number of polygons in the fuselage block itself.... Upscaling .25-.25-.25 fuselage blocks set to circular seems to have more "corners"

Basically the larger you set the ingame fuselage blocks the more polygons it has as opposed to upscaling it

@VeroViper huh, interesting...maybe it has something to do with the collider of sorts? this also kinda explained a bit of why some of stuff I've built sometimes do weird... hmh, thanks!

@Monarchii to put it simply, if you make an 1-1-1 fuselage with no drag and scale it up multiple times, it won't cause that much lag. This is the opposite for 10-10-10 fuselages, I don't exactly know which point will cause lag but it's smaller the better I guess

@VeroViper curious, so basically make it out of sub 5-5-5_SP fuselage scale only fuselage parts right? I'll try it out maybe tomorrow and see

hey i got tip for you to make these kind of builds bigger
you basically have to use smaller fuselage and it should not be bigger than 5
and remove any parts that are bigger than 5
    and don't add lights
now you can scale as much as you want
hopefully this helps you in future builds
    cheers mate!

@DatRoadTrainGuy19 it gave me an idea... Guess i'll make it soon for a hatchback car prop, but not for sooner because i'm not always building at every time. Patience just only a way

@LunarEclipseSP maybe just called it "city hatchback" or something and plus, its a fictional brand too made up by the beamng team so... I dont think they have any problem at all if someone else uses their made up brand names.

So simple yet so accurate. Also I like to destroy big things when I’m bored, this is perfect for me. Though I prefer destroying US’s things than Asian ones. Still, very nice build, love it.

@LunarEclipseSP no its just looks similar (uss beast is a nimitz class but the pre 1.8 version of the uss beast is different)

@Turbo18 what? Was the USS Beast used to be a Kuznetsov class?
