RJ "Whirlwind II" FGR MK1 6.2
Introduction
I came across some artwork by Rasmus Poulson for a fictional 1970s RAF light bomber and I thought i could adapt the concept for SimplePlanes.
So here we have the Whirlwind II. Its 4no. engines give it some kick and top end but this is countered some what by its increased weight (70,000lbs...)
Armed in this instance with 1no. gatling cannon, 2no. AIM 54 Phoenix missiles (yes the same as on the F14), 2no. AIM 54X Rambo Interceptors (adapted and improved AIM 54s with retractable fins).
Controls
I kept these simple;
AG1 = start / stop all 4 engines
AG3 = airbrake
AG4 = Arm/fins out for AIM-54X missiles
AG6 = drop all external tanks
VTOL up = flaps down
VTOL dn = retract wings
LG = landing gear...

Airbrake
Takeoff run
Gear up
Tanks off
Target destroyed

F14 x British lightning
@EternalDarkness Thanks again for the upvote, comment and spotlight, glad you liked the build, I had fun with it (even after moving the wings back and forwards numerous times... )
Flies beautifully, and i love the British Tomcat styling
If NG was British and a part of BAe:
This is quite the diabolical, very cool
So it's a Tornado crossed with an F-14 with a seriously malnourished set of elevators
Lovely bird, RJ. Cool concept. I really like the central elevator.
