Redsand Republic Bromhaar B1
The first natively designed and produced fighter craft of the Redsand Republic, the Bromhaar B1 was a mid wing monoplane, designed by Rupert Bromhaar in early 2203. Identifiable by it's distinct cowling and modern (at the time) layout, the type would enter service after various flight trials, entering service in the latter half of the year to supplement the newly acquired Reichswerke Rw-3(B), of which 256 had been received from the Falkenberg Kingdom. The B1 would see it's baptism of fire in the Groenewald Push, the biggest offensive taken by the republic in the war. Going up against Alliance forces who had more or less copied the Rw-3's design, the B1, which was powered by the Kruger Kangaroo 360 hp inline engine, had outclassed it's bi-winged counterpart, having an edge in speed, climb, and fuel endurance, which proved vital in the early stages of the offensive. It is also to be noted, that the B1 was the first aircraft of any kind, to feature a synchronization gear, allowing for the single front facing machine gun to fire through the propeller arc without ever hitting it. Overall, like many mid war aircraft, the type would continue to be used in the attrition hell of the Great Regional War, as well as after, proving to the Republic and the Falkenberg kingdom alike, that the misconceptions held about the safety of monoplanes, were false.
