Before the Xynogriffon and the Daichlon entered service, several hundreds of prototypes were built, each one testing different aspects of flight. The VF6 Falling Star was one of them. This particular prototype tested an experimental propulsion unit that soon became the basis of the Daichlon's engines. This prototype became popular (and known to the public) after a fatal accident caused by the fusion core not attached to the plane, causing rapid fuel depletion and destabilization.
