The aircraft, G-BYGC, first went into service with British Airways in 1999 and was only in service with British Airways throughout its lifetime, it was the final British Airways Boeing 747-400 to fly, making its last flight on December 11, 2020. The aircraft was painted in the BOAC Retro colors in February 2019 and stayed in the livery for the rest of its life.
