Howard H.P.W. 3400
Well, here it is. The Howard H.P.W. 3400 (Howard’s hanky-pank wagon). I wasn’t able to complete the interior and some exterior details, like more complex wing structure, because I ran out of processing capacity. My poor phone :(
But she’s great fun to fly! Easy to fly, easy takeoff and landing, fun landings. She tends to nose-dive in the water though, so make sure you use full flaps, full throttle, and full pitch up to take off. To land in water is the same, except little to no throttle. There’s a gyro you can use to keep the nose up and steer in the water, but you don’t need it. Use one engine to turn! I really love this plane and worked hard on it (the hull was a real Duzie, to use the parlance of the time haha). I hope you guys love it too!
Edit: oops! I forgot! Thanks to @BogdanX, whose pontoons I used(Fairey w/floaters). My plan was to use them as placeholders/mock-up, then the part count got too high and I got too frustrated to design my own pontoons :/ maybe I’ll come back to it later...
All flight controls are standard.
Ag1- engine 1
Ag2- engine2
Ag3- gyro
Ag3+trim down- keeps the nose up in the water.
VTOL- flaps
Trim- trim
Landing gear- retract landing gear (no-duh I know, but they do retract!)
Enjoy!
(I’m sorry if anyone is offended by the term “hanky-pank”. If so, I can change the name.)

Ok thanks! @Chancey21
@Tully2001 @WeeBabySeamus hey guys, if it was either of you who featured my build, thank you very very much!! I am very honored :)
Usually WeeBabySeamus does the featuring but I think Tully2001 does some too @Hyattorama
Thank you! @Trainzo
A very big job . Fantastic replica .
Thank you!!! I think I got extremely lucky... @JelloAircraftCorporation
Thank you! I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that yesterday I posted on the forum asking if getting featured was a realistic goal for me... :/. So maybe it’s mostly luck, but hey, I’ll take it! Haha. Who do I thank, btw? @Chancey21
Congrats on the feature! :)
Wow, nice build!
Featured, nice, it took me until 17K to get featured:)
Haha yeah I certainly can’t keep this pace up for long. @JelloAircraftCorporation
Good idea! I'd be spent too after bulding so many planes in such a short period! :)@Hyattorama
Oh hahaha. The reply system isn’t quite perfect is it? Hah. Okay, I’m pretty spent at the moment in regards to this project. But when I cool off, I think it would be a good idea to make a lower part count version for all of us mobile users hahah. @JelloAircraftCorporation
Sure! Go ahead. I was actually replying to the comment where you explained the name of the plane. @Hyattorama
I meant if you wanted to try a slightly lower part count, I could refinish that older save file for you with a bit fewer parts and no interior. @JelloAircraftCorporation
Ahhh that makes sense. @Hyattorama
I have a version before I started the cockpit that has a bit fewer parts... @JelloAircraftCorporation
Mr. Hughes’s*@JelloAircraftCorporation
Yes! That’s why it’s the Howard! Me. Hughes’s chick magnet whip! (Flying whip)
:) @JelloAircraftCorporation
I bet! Little bit too big for my ancient iphone though. Btw is this based off a S-38?@Hyattorama
I did! Haha. Although I still ended up running up the part count too high, so it’s not as detailed as I’d hoped. But still fun to fly! :) @JelloAircraftCorporation
You fixed the mirroring issue!
