Supermarine Black Vulture
The British on one side, the Americans on the other, the Soviet Union seemed surrounded. And yet there were hundreds of factories squeezed into a narrow strip of land. It was vital that in the event of war these were destroyed. The solution was simple: have a force of bombers hidden inside the Eastern Bloc to strike from within. Supermarine soon constructed a fleet of bombers, adapted from the Supermarine Vulture, that was up to the task. They boasted pylons for extra air to ground missiles, more guns and a dark night-fighter style paint job. Operating from a secret airfield, they would cause mayhem. AG1 fires the air to air missiles, AG2 deploys the landing chute, AG3 switches on the lights, AG4 drops the bomb, AG5 starts the engine and AG6 fires the air to ground missiles.
