+++ NAME +++
WISP: short for WILL-O'-THE-WISP, a mischievous spirit that appears as an alluring, floating ball of light.

+++ TYPE +++
The WISP is significantly different from most of the Archon Chancery's aircraft designs. The WISP is a Helistat: a jet version of a helicopter. The model presented is a gunship, although the design could easily be modified to serve as an air ambulance, a sky crane, or even an executive transport.

+++ ACTIVATION GROUPS +++
* MAIN ENGINES: The WISP uses four powerful WHIRLWIND Engines that can pivot from vertical to either forward or reverse horizontal thrust (Trim lever).
1 - AUXILIARY LIFT and BOOSTER ENGINES: AG1 engages the CONSTELLATION integrated engine system, which includes an enhanced gyro-stabilization unit (on whenever AG-1 is active). It is highly recommended that this stabilizer be utilized for most helistat operations. The system also includes al pair of XENON boost engines (VTOL bar up), and the anti-gravity GRAVITON VTOL motor (VTOL bar down).
2 - MAIN LASER BATTERY: Activates the WISP's main heavy weaponry, a pair of STAR DUST particle cannons.
3 - MAIN PROJECTILE WEAPON: a single internal SAGITTARIUS Rocket Pod (load: 35 rockets).
4 - AIR to AIR MISSILES: Activates the FANG advanced AA missile system (Interceptor based; total missile load: 10 units) held in an internal bay.
5 - AIR to GROUND MISSILES: Activates the TALON advanced AG missile system (Cleaver based; total missile load: 6 units), held in an internal bay.
6 - ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS: Activates two STAR FIRE II fore and aft anti-aircraft laser pods.
7 - GROUND ASSAULT TURRET: a swiveling array of four METEOR STORM laser shard arrays.
8 - DEFAULT SYSTEMS: Deactivating this group disconnects the main UMBRA reactor, deactivating all active sensors, as shown by extinguishing the various engine, radar, and running lights.

  • Designer Note:
    I must try to give credit here to a designer who is unknown to me. Some while ago, I saw an aircraft on the new planes list with these amazing spherical engines. I downloaded it, but I forgot to mark down its creator. These engines are fascinating, and they eventually inspired me to build the WISP. To the designer of these engines, please accept both my apologies and my thanks.

    @M7MDRHX It's always best to keep track of them...it can be difficult to get replacements. ;-)

    @Gluck Thank you! Tomorrow's post, the WYVERN, will be the last of this set...I hope you've enjoyed seeing and flying them. Once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
