History: In mid 1944, Arado recieve an urgent request from the Luftwaffe high command demanding a new reconnaissance aircraft. By the end of 1944, Arado had a flight-ready aircraft made. The first flights showed that it was slow but responsive, especially the pitch controls. The aircraft had a crew of two: pilot and navigator/weapons officer. The Luftwaffe was not pleased with the craft, so they ordered every prototype scrapped. But Arado kept one intact so that they could gain the research needed to create more flying-wing aircraft (like the E555).
