FB-107 UL Lightningchief
The FB-107 was a tactical strike/fighting aircraft for low to medium altitude ground attack with partial air combat mission capability, derived from Republic Aviation's (fictional) naval bomber program, converted to a shared technology program between the United States and its allies after the program failed to compete, and eventually modified and fielded against the backdrop of a deteriorating international order.
The FB-107 program was formally adopted in 1972, and the first 15 modified/semi-remanufactured FB-107s joined the service queues of several countries in 1975 and entered service in subsequent wars.
