The Royal Aircraft Factory SE5A was a British single-seat fighter. The first aircraft of this type flew in 1916, and started mass production during 1917. However, the first version of the aircraft was poorly received (especially by the 56th RFC squadron) because it was too slow, the windscreen was too big etc. After going through some modifications, it soon became one of the best british fighters of World War 1.
