The E-10 Grifus heavy UAV is an AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft built using a canard configuration and stealth technologies. It is designed for reconnaissance and target designation in close proximity to combat operations.
History: In 2000, the Ministry of Defense of the USSR announced a competition to develop a low-observable AEW&C aircraft. The semi-commercial company Zarya won the competition. In the winter of 2004, the first E-10 was built at the Zarya Heavy Industries factories. The completed aircraft is equipped with a Zarya Thrust Technologies ZTT-300 engine.
