@AWESOMENESS360 there's a use of the so called "submarine carrier" in the world war, notably the ship would surface and then launch the plane with a launcher, to retrieve the plane it uses float (the plane use floats) this were not really that optimized and a little bit on the inconvenience side so it was discontinued and opted for surface aircraft carrier, good idea though, im always imagine one of my imaginary country have a submarine that is 1000m long and 300m wide, it will use a double submarine system sort of things and have a deck in the middle with island in both of the sub, i called it Navarone Class Super Submarine or Submersible Aircraft Carrier, It'l use big batteries that can last for 1 year per charge to full capacity and fully electric so the noise is minimized, the shape of the submarine is also altered to make it stealth, even though i doubt you could hide an underwater airstrip

@AWESOMENESS360 Still having an allied battellgroup/airbase kinda defeats the purpose (why dont just send an aircraft from there) Still there would be some uses for that. Looking forward to see your solutions for those issues

I saw that plane irl, in the museum it’s in @AWESOMENESS360

@blackvultureaeroespace to recover the aircraft, they would land at an allied airbase, and if they couldn't reach, they'd still be buoyant so they could land on water. If they landed on water, they could be recovered by a helicopter, and returned to an aircraft carrier, or they could be recovered by the aircraft carrier itself. To reload the aircraft back onto the submarine, the top half of the sub would re-surface, so the aircraft can be re-attached. (The launch pods for the aircraft would have to be located on the top half of the sub.)

@AWESOMENESS360 Still, the Tomhawk has a diameter of arround half a meter and 6.25m long in wich to fit fuel, life support, controls, and weaponry. Also, how do you recover the plane(and pilot) once launched? If you need to surface the sub you are losing the stealth factor and might as well use a "conventional" carrier. Still there should be less of a problem with the Trident sized tubes (1.8m diameter). Still is how to recover the thing...

@blackvultureaeroespace The thing is that the submarine would have to be large enough, and I imagine that the launchable planes would be like the Cleaver Cruise Missile in the game, with extendable wings, and when you look at the cleaver compared to the size of the cockpit block, it doesn't seem too difficult to make a cleaver sized plane for a person to pilot. And besides, the smallest flyable aircraft was much smaller than the Cleaver is portrayed.

@AWESOMENESS360 Well, for getting a pilot in the craft would need to be so big it would have the same size of an ICBM (at least on caliber). Imagine haveing a cockpit of 522-650mm of space

@blackvultureaeroespace well, maybe it wouldn't have to necessarily be a drone, if a plane launching submarine were to be made.

@AWESOMENESS360 Like a TLAM (Tomahawk) launched from a VLS.
What about a solid fuel booster with a drone on the tip.The booster gets the craft out the water and gives it speed and when it runs out it separates and deploys the drone.
The only problem would be who controles the drone.

@ACEPILOT109 well, there aren't any submarines in real life that can deploy aircraft like that, but it would still be a cool thing if there were!

@ACEPILOT109 this is pretty creative! I can imagine something like it irl would have airtight pods that keep the aircraft sealed inside, and when they're ready to launch, they could work like torpedos, except instead of going forwards, they would instantly skyrocket up to the surface, and when they breach, some wings could extend out, and it would immediately be ready for combat. This would allow you to deploy aircraft while submerged and hidden, allowing for extremely stealthy attacks.

I’m going to take the design of this And make a secret project out of it (totally not an aircraft carri-). It would be cool to see what you would do with it
