Captain Edwards was a very rebellious captain. But he accomplished something special. In late 1951, he engaged a small carrier task group and his custom-armed plane attacked with all of its missiles, fatally damaging the ship. Edwards was the first pilot of the Terminan Union to sink a ship with missiles. Unluckily, as he pulled away,, No. 2 engine was shot off, and the plane was lost. He survived, and later taught effective ground-attack tactics. This is a replica of his plane the day before it was lost.
