Series Z Sabre - Fixed
Fixed version as promised. This version is slightly more user friendly.
Another Fighter from the Freelancer Universe.
This is the Border Worlds Series Z "Sabre".
It is a VHF (Very Heavy Fighter) that can be used by anyone who can afford to buy it.
With a large powerplant, it can deliver a sustained burst of destructive firepower unlike other VHF of similar size.
You will note there is no landing gear.
This is due to not being able to find or fabricate a front landing gear that would not make it go out of control when taking off. Falling over sideways at speed is bad for aircraft. :P
Solution? VTOL.
Controls are as follows; AG1 to activate VTOL, thrust vectoring is disabled.
AG2 for main engines.
To take off: AG1 then full power.
Sabre will pitch downward, AG2 when you think you are high enough, be ready to stop the pitch up when activating.
When the nose rises through the horizontal hit AG1 to kill the VTOL.
Also capable of water take off. I have not yet managed to land on land, water landings may be the only option.
Weapons Load out: In order to reflect the amount of firepower this ship has in Freelancer, the number of weapons is high for the size of the ship.
4 Miniguns, 2 Heavy Machine Guns, Upper turret with Minigun+Heavy Machine placed in the center.
Weapons placements are correct/close to actual positions.
6 Interceptor, 2 Guardian. Seems to be a standard load out.
Sabre will stabilise at about 200 mph and be fully controllable at that point. Max speed is around 430 mph. Will fly slightly up if left alone at full speed.
Note that both engines actually function, they both balance each out.
Altering the thrust values on either one will produce either a downward pitch or an upward pitch.
Can be very tricky to balance the values to get it close to right.

Fighter testing notes: Does well against the Spitfire Mk Ia, but that ancient fighter can still out turn it.
Does well against the F-15C, can dogfight until it comes down to machine guns on occasion.
Odd wing structure may help, I swear I saw a missile fly between the wings.
