Republic P-47 Thunderbolt
America Fighter first deployed in 1942. Many crews and pilots called it the “jug” due to its large fuselage resembling a milk jug. Ctr Group 1 drops fuel tank. Its turbosupercharged Pratt & Hitney R-2800 double wasp gave it an impressive top speed and manueverablity at high altitudes which other fighters of the time. Its turn rates were much less than other fighters of the time like the bf-109 but its roll rate was on par with lighter aircraft. In 1944 the introduction of the curtiss paddle prop greatly increase its climb rate. The P-47 came in two designe the bubble canopy and razor back the one I made had a bubble canopy. It saw service through the Korean war and the past P-47 was retired in 1966 by the Peruvian air force.
