RJ Penguin B1 10.8

243k RamboJutter  10 days ago

Introduction

The RAF used to have large bombers (Vulcan, Victor, Valiant etc.), it used to have medium sized bombers (Canberra, etc.), and now it only has fighters converted to drop bombs (formerly; Jaguar, Tornado, current Typhoon).

Its about time the RAF got a new medium bomber, so i designed one, with "stealthy" type characteristics but not the paint (because all grey is boring).

Designed to fit the niche between big bombers like the US B1/B2 and the fighter bombers previously mentioned, the Penguin can carry 32 small JDAMS internally but has the ability to carry a variety of ordinance internally or externally as the need arises.

Featuring, sequenced undercarriage and doors, suspension, sequenced bomb bay doors, engine intakes and exhausts, reheat sequence etc. etc.

Controls

AG1=start engines
AG3=open bomb bays and arm JDAMS
vtol DN=flaps/slats

I called it the penguin due to its side profile, when its in the vertical its got a bit of a penguin vibe going on, to be fair it was nearly the angry frog as thats what it looks like from the rear.

Oh and I started this in 2022... but then rebuilt, the fuselage, wing, tail, engines, bomb bay, undercarriage and cockpit this year... so maybe it counts as a 2025 build???

    To my knowledge the best option is to put an oversized button on a ai-used-craft so when loaded in you tap a button and craft gets a constant FireGuns command.
    FT stuff is needed too.

    @TheHaggisBasher Maybe, the thing that puts me off the ww2 style bombers is all the useless turrets, if SP had a turret option i would certainly build some more. Have you seen the artwork for the B17 flying wing?

    @ShinyGemsBro If you think this is wide you should see the concept art for the F22 bomber =)

    Dunno when you'll loop back around to it Rambo. but you think there's room for some more cursed Lancaster bombers when you go back to WW2 vehicles? or maybe even some tanks
