D'aero'M SP DIV proudly present model of : Dr. Otto von Schtimerschatz - RE Dr. Schtimerschatz was amazed by Henri Coanda's ,,1910" jet plane . After Coanda's fail Otto decided to continue jet-research . The result was RE (Reaktiv Einsdecker ; something like Jet Monoplane) - first (succesful) jet plane . Plane first flown at 8th May 1912 (pilot Uli Krepke) . Flight was succesful (and quite fast - about 200mph) . As usual army was interested in this type , wanted it - but with propellers (because jet engines were still too dangerous) . Dr. Schtimerschatz refused and after 2 more flights left the ,,jet idea" . There was only 1 prototype of this plane . This prototype was destroyed during WWI .
