Tupolev Tu-56 (Russian: ??????? ??-56) is a short-haul airliner made in Soviet Union in 1950s. The plane design is developed from the Tupolev B22 bomber that never left the drawing board(also fictional). It can carry 50 passenger in full configuration. The first Tu-56 had its first flight in 1959, one year after the completion of the airframe that delayed several years after its announcement in 1952 and entered service with Aeroflot in the same year, operating Moscow-Kyiv route. The plane was famous with its instability and also noise. The Tu-56 was slowly withdrawn from service after Yakovlev Yak-40 entered service in 1968 and then all remaining airframe was retired by Aeroflot in 1973 with some of them transferred to Soviet Air Force, which operates them until 1988
