The A310 began its life as the A300B10, one of Airbus's A300B project designs. The first flight of the A310 took place on April 3, 1982, and in April 1983 entered service with Lufthansa Airlines. The A310-300 had a longer range based on the A310-200, and production began in 1985. Model 300 can carry up to 7000 kg of fuel. The A310-200F has also been introduced as a cargo model. Another model, the A310-200C, is a freight / passenger model first introduced in 1984 by the German company Martinhire.
