=History of aircraft=
An interceptor developed with a modified Rolls-Royce Griffon-65 engine which can produce 2225 horsepower, Armament was taken from a Spitfire LF Mk.IX which had been shot down during the difficult times of bombardment from the LuftWaffe bomber squadrons. Once accepted into production, the fighter proved effective in the role of High Altitude Fighter and Interceptor, shooting down a total of 672 enemy fighters and 400 enemy bombers. Many ace pilots had used this aircraft to gain their victories, and increasing the reputations of their squadrons.
