Fedorov Fe-1 "Dyatel"
The Fedorov Fe-1 "Dyatel" (lit. Woodpecker) is a single-engined single-seat monoplane fighter aircraft designed by Fedorov Aircraft Industries for the Alyaskan Imperial Air Force (AVVS). It was the backbone of the AVVS air power during the late 1930s and early 1940s period.
The first-series Dyatel is powered by the 1000 hp Krupin E30 V12 liquid-cooled engine, delivering a max speed of just 400 km/h. It is armed with 4 × 13 mm AvP-36 machine guns with 400 ammunitions each, totalling 1600 ammunition. The aircraft was known to be versatile and agile, having a decent turn rate with excellent energy retention. Its large wingspan makes it a good high-altitude fighter. The small and cramped cockpit made pilots dislike it.
The later variants of the Dyatel feature upgraded engines, more firepower and payload, as well as wider cockpit.
