SP Central 107
So i have been working on a functional replica of the Walschaerts valve gear on a mogul steam locomotive.
The all the rods are operational and have a real working function. The reverser realy reverses the valve function and the locomotive is driven by the running gear.
The pistons are powered by jets that are timed to the valvegear, and the drivers touch the track to power it, the resizable wheels are only there to function as flanges so the locomotive stays on track.
This took ages to make, and i am happy it's finally moving at a blistering speed of 24mp/h (Limitlessspin for more speed)
Controls:
Throttle for the regulator (jets)
VTOL for reverser rod (VTOL up for forwards/ down for reverse)
FireGuns for whistle
LandingGear for magnets
NOTES
For limitlessspin users - locomotive becomes unstable at 29 Mp/h
Wait for the lifters to fully retract, they will get caught on the rails and cause derailments.
