Louis Zamperini was a bombardier who, during WW2, crashed in the Pacific Ocean. His plane, dubbed "Superman" suffered catastrophic engine failure and crashed soon after. He survived for 48 days on a raft with his best friend before being captured and tortured by the Japanese. He refused to fall even when dealt beatings, starvation and worse at the hands of prison guards. He finally survived and, although he passed away, he continues to inspire countless people with the story of his courage and endurance. This is his plane.
