C-10 Cerniera

The C-10 Cerniera is a ‘wingless’ Tilt-Rotor Aircraft designed and built in 1956 as an experimental high speed Helicopter. The craft used technologies far more advanced than what C-10 would usually use to build aircraft and as a result feels far more alien than any of their other machines. This craft boasts an astonishing top speed of 250mph which is comparable to that of a plane; however the odd design of the engine pods has lead to the manoeuvrability of the craft to suffer harshly. On top of this, due to limitations of the hydraulic systems, the craft lacks any form of stationary/hovering yaw. This lead to the production of the craft to be halted due to high maintenance costs making this the only working model in existence.
