Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II ukraine air force
Wiki
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin turbofan engine, straight-wing jet aircraft developed by Fairchild-Republic for the United States Air Force (USAF). It is commonly referred to by the nicknames "Warthog" or "Hog", although the A-10's official name comes from the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, a World War II fighter-bomber effective at attacking ground targets. The A-10 was designed for close air support (CAS) of friendly ground troops, attacking armored vehicles and tanks, and providing quick-action support against enemy ground forces.

The A-10 has been successful in past conflicts, like Desert Storm 1.0, Desert Storm 2.0, and Afghanistan – but only after the US had secured the airspace above the conflict zone. The A-10 is a second-phase sort of weapon to be used once air superiority is established.
What the Ukrainians need right now are the tools to establish air superiority – which is where the forthcoming A-10 donations would come into play. But the likelihood of the Ukrainians ever fully establishing land superiority over the conflict is low, the A-10 will become a game changer during the conflict if the Ukraine gets the air superiority.
