Sorry to use Simple Planes to share my fix for steam not opening on a Mac.
I felt it important to share my experience so no one else has to go without playing Simple Planes for any period of time.
FIX:
You need to reset your font book.
This fixed my problem of not being able to open Steam. All other fixes online didn't work. I just noticed in a crash file it stated something about not being able to use a font and that is what got me thinking. The only games I play on Steam is Simple Planes and Simple Rockets 2. This will explain why I decided to post the fix here. I love SP and SR2.
