OA-10E Thunderbolt II
This is the Fairchild Republic OA-10E Thunderbolt II. It is a hypothetical A-10 variant used for counterinsurgency. With its most significant design change is the replacement of turbofan jet engines with turboprop engines located on the wings. Although the new engines make the aircraft somewhat slower, it drastically increased fuel efficiency. It is still incredibly durable but cannot carry as many weapons as its predecessor. This aircraft was built because in the 2010s the US military was looking for a replacement to its aging A-10 C's. Its requirements were, a two-man aircraft able to provide close air support, and other ground targeted roles and have the ability to stay in the air for very long periods of time without the need for refueling.
This specific aircraft is equipped with AGM-65 Mavericks, GBU-32(V) JDAM bombs, 6 LAU-131 rocket pods, and a 30×173 mm GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon. There are an additional 3 hardpoints to be loaded at your discretion.
( I still have no idea how to build guided bombs so I used the Mavericks from Rodwans F-14 and modified Dimkals JDAM bombs)

(PS. After my last build I figured I’d finish up this side project that I’ve been working on, I took note on some of the critiques for the last A-10 to improve here. Also, I have no idea what to build next so if there’s anything you’d like to see me attempt please let me know.)

beatiful plane, interesting prop design
Nice plane, really good. I could never wish to do anything close to that.
