Mosasaurus
A Mosasaurus!
This is an entry for the Ornithopter Challenge by CheetoPumkinEater1
This began as a for fun build, but I ended up spending a good amount of time making this craft function well. It’s not very anatomically accurate, but it’s about the size of an adult mosasaurus. Hope you enjoy!
Note: The mosasaurus was a prehistoric aquatic reptile that lived during the late Cretaceous period (82-66 mya). These creatures could grow to about 50 feet (17 m) long and are believed to have been able to prey on any animal in their habitat.
Controls
AG1: activate/deactivate turbojet for extra thrust
AG2: activate/deactivate flippers
Throttle: input for flippers and turbojet
VTOL: mouth
Works best when starting from water or air, but it can do a runway takeoff.
- Activate 1 & 2
- Turn throttle slowly to ~80%
- Pull up
Note: if doing a takeoff from land, lock flippers at 30% throttle and pull up from beginning of takeoff “roll”

@mosasaurus88
@CheetoPumkinEater1 Yea, I was wondering what your reaction might be to the mosasaur. It did feel a bit out of place when I posted it. Overall though I agree with your decision as the dragon seems to have much more work put into it. Thanks for allowing me to participate in the challenge and giving me second!
Hey, don’t down my yacht :) @XYeetusdeletusx
I'm glad I lost to this and not a flying yacht
@Timplanes246 yeah it would
@DEMON1o1 No, but that would’ve been cool!
