Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress "The Groaning Seagull"
Veteran Long Range Strategic Bomber

One of the "Lucky 7" surviving and airworthy B-17Gs of the Tactical Forces Military's Global Air Combat branch from World War 2 and the Korean War. This one in particular having earned the most stripes and is more famous compared to the others.

The Groaning Seagull earned it's first stripes in Europe against Germany and Italy, assisting allied liberation efforts by conducting frontline bombardment missions.

It would rise to fame, however, during the D-Day landings for it's daring, low altitude, repeated bombing runs across Normandy, which resulted in accurate hits; devastating the German lines and carving paths for allied ground forces to take unimpeded.

Countless friendly boots on the ground would easily recognize the green camouflage painted Flying Fortress and it's iconic seagull art through their binoculars.. as did the Axis soldiers that survived it's relentless rain of destruction wherever and on whatever target it flew over.

Despite sustaining heavy damage throughout it's entire life in the Second World War, it survived until the early years of the Korean War; conducting it's final bombing run against North Korean positions before being recalled back to Wright for it's subsequent retirement.

Until this day, the Groaning Seagull remains airworthy, and is well taken care of by the TFMGAC's Historic Maintenance and Preservation Wing; ensuring that the hard-earned glory of the beloved Seagull and her fearless crew are remembered and carried on unto the future.

Have fun.
