Qiang-5, designed and manufactured by Nanchang Aircraft Factory, China, is the first jet strike aircraft of the People's Republic of China Air Force. It began development in 1958 and first flew in June 1965. By the end of the same year, the basic design was finalized. The Qiang-5 series of aircraft are equipped with a large number of Chinese air force and naval aviation forces, and have become one of the main combat models of China's ground attack.
